EVANGELISM REPORT FROM NCBC 16-19 NOVEMBER, 2018
Many good things are happening in the congregations around us. On 17th November, the Church of Christ, Uruk Uso, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State ordained her first batch of Elders and Deacons after 43 years of their existence. Four men including Dr. S. P. Ekanem, an alumnus of NCBC, were ordained as Elders and three men as Deacons. Friday Mark who has served as the minister in that congregation for 8 years is also an alumnus of NCBC. The ordination service was very colourful and drew participants from many congregations across Nigeria.
On 16th November being Friday, fourteen NCBC students embarked on a weekend evangelism to the Church of Christ, Ibiaku Itam, Itu where Samuel Okon, the Director of NCBC Ministerial Program is preaching. They made 150 calls from house to house and staged one open air lecture. God blessed their efforts with eight (8) baptisms. The Ibiaku Itam congregation hired a bus that conveyed our students back to the college.
The same weekend, two students also visited and worked with City Church of Christ, Abak. They evangelized Abak Town house to house and preached on Sunday and baptized two souls for Christ.
On Sunday, 18th November, I drove the WBS Team made up of Monday Akpapan, Sunday Solomon and Anameti Akpan to Ikot Abasi No. 1, Etinan to conduct WBS seminar and quiz competition for youths of Etinan Churches of Christ. Monday Akpapan spoke on the role of WBS in Evangelism and Uyai Joshua led in the call for baptism. Anameti Akpan enrolled over one hundred youths into WBS program. Youths from fifteen congregations were presented for the quiz competitions. Gifts of Bibles and Towels were given as prizes to three over all winners.
On Monday morning November 19th, Anameti Akpan, a WBS follow up worker, NCBC Ukpom baptized two souls for Christ after some weeks of bible studies with them these two new converts were members of denominational Churches. Nsikak Ephraim Akpan was from Methodist Church while Unyime Monday Ibanga was from United Pentecostal Church. There is a renewed interest in the reception of the Gospel in our area and many souls are added to the Lord’s Kingdom daily.
